Power Blade

Billy Bob Thornton Says: Some folks call it a power blade. Mmm hmm.
Mega Man Says: I wish I could shoot vertically.
The Bent Kangaroo Says: Hop on my back Mega Man!

What Kind Of Game Is This?

A platform scroller, similar to Mega Man in style.

Plot?

In 2191, the computer that is running the city develops intelligence (think Skynet) and takes over the town. You, Nova, must get control back. You have six informants who are strategically placed inside each sector with keycards for you (because giving you the keycards ahead of time would be too easy). You can play the levels in any order.

What Is The Power Blade?

It's one of most kick-ass power-ups in platform history. You begin with a boomerang, that can gain strength with power-ups.  The power blade is not only enormous, it can travel through walls and virtually destroys everything in its path. To add challenge, you can only get hit three times before you lose it.

Does Nova Have A Lot Of Neat Moves?

He can do nothing extraordinary, but he responds so well to the control pad it doesn't matter. And as alluded to by Mega Man, he can shoot in all eight directions.

I Suck At Action Games. Will I Suck At This?

Probably.  The difficulty level here ranges somewhere between Mega Man and Super Mario Bros. Nearly every boss is painfully easy. And the game is fairly short.

So Who Would You Recommend This To?

Those who have the patience to die a few times while learning the levels. Fans of Mega Man should have no problem with this game and may enjoy the ease of using weapons.
