Nintendo World Cup

David Beckham Says: Now them Argentinans can bend it!
Black Mage Says: Thanks to my powers!
The Bent Kangaroo Says: How come Australia is not in this game?

What Kind Of Game Is This?

Arcade soccer. Or, for you wordly readers, football.  Or, for you bilingual readers, futbol.

Does It Follow Soccer Rules?

Sort of. You have six guys on the field instead of nine.  There are no yellow cards for elbowing the opponent in the temple. Injured guys stay on the field and do not revive until a goal is scored. But other than that, yeah.

Play Control?

Decent. Despite the players being poorly drawn, they can do running headers and bicycle kicks! None of the controls are difficult to master.

I Assume There Is A World Cup Mode?

Yup.  You can choose from a number of teams, and they all have different strengths and weaknesses.  They also have various special shots, from super line drives to zig-zag shots that can be used so many times per game.

Does It Ever Become Difficult?

Near the end of the cup, you may have to play Argentina and W. Germany a few times before you can beat them.

What Is Four-Player Mode Like?

Never had a chance to play it, but I can't imagine the game play is any better; however, it could be a fun party game, elbowing your friends over and over again. You can also change the surface in multi-player mode from grass to ice to hilly!

So Who Would You Recommend This To?

Anyone who enjoys arcade sports games, like Arch Rivals or Ice Hockey.
