Many video game reviews rank games in several categories. I give ONE rating for each game. In ONE category. That category is FUN

DIFFICULTY varies from player to player. I feel Ninja Gaiden is easy, while Ninja Gaiden 2 is impossible to beat. I know other people who feel the second game is easier than the first. Difficulty is dependent on many factors such as dexterity, hand-eye coordination, logic, linear and spatial thinking. Rating each game on each of those factors would be nauseating and pointless. Also, some people enjoy challenging games, while some enjoy easier ones. Translating difficulty into FUN is impossible.

PLOT/STORY only applies to certain games. Obviously, an RPG is likely to have a better story, than say, Tetris. That alone does not create a game that's more FUN.

REPLAY VALUE is entirely dependent on a game being FUN. If you don't enjoy a game, you won't replay it.

GRAPHICS/MUSIC/PLAY CONTROL are fairly objective categories. But they all have one thing in common: the better they are, the more FUN a game will be.

Yes, FUN is entirely subjective. But isn't that the point? That's why people play games. You will probably disagree with my ratings; that's why you should read each game's description to see if it sounds like a worthy play. Hopefully, my guide will give you good direction for finding the games you'll enjoy playing.
