Bugs Bunny Birthday Blowout

Porky Pig Says: N-n-n-otice all th-the Warner Bros. promotions in th-this g-g-g-game!
Marvin The Martian Says: Oh dear, now I shall have to blow it up!
The Bent Kangaroo Says: Bravo!

What Kind Of Game Is This?

A platformer! Yes! Yes! Yes!

I Sense Sarcasm.

What ever do you mean? There is nothing better than a company buying a license and throwing various characters onto a screen so you can go through levels beating the bad guys with a hammer.

Bugs Has A Hammer?

Of course. He wielded hammers all the time on Merrie Melodies.

So What's The Story Behind This Game?

The game reminds you that this is the 50TH ANNIVERSARY of Warner Bros, and therefore Bugs Bunny is being thrown a birthday party. The rest of the cast, after speaking with their agents, got super pissed that Bugs got all the attention, so they decide to sabotage the party, by well, killing him.

Tweety Bird Wants To Kill Bugs?

Yes. It's Wabbit Season.

I've Seen Worse Plots.

I suppose. But the designers could have included some really neat aspects of the old cartoons into the game, not only for looks, but as puzzles, to make it more interesting. For example, give Bugs a baseball bat. Have a level where Bugs has to avoid Elmira's hugs and kisses. Something.

But Instead?

They create weird enemies that are not memorable nor bear any resemblance to anything on the show. There are virtually no puzzles to maneuver on any of the levels (think of Winter Wonderland and Pipe World on SMB3 for an example of what works), and at no point in the game do things become difficult. Or even moderately challenging. You can get hit about seventy-four times before you die, and win hordes of bonus lives between levels.

Okay, So Maybe The Designers Weren't All That Great.  But What Evidence Do You Have That Makes You Feel The Game Was Just A Commercial Promotion?

On each level, you can collect hundreds of carrots that help you win bonus lives. After you touch a carrot, it turns into a WB symbol, that can be used as stepping stone and cannot be eliminated from the screen.

Right.  So Who Would You Recommend This To?

Those four and younger or sixty-four and older. Near everyone else will find it insultingly easy and nauseating.
