1943

Emperor Hirohito Says: I will not give up the Midway!
Franklin Delano Roosevelt Says: Heh heh. While you deploy all your ships to Midway, I'll just take these here Solomon Islands.
The Bent Kangaroo Says: What?  Defend the Midway again with one plane? You idiot!

So Is This Just Like 1942?

Nope.  This time the Japanese have brought their bombers and entire fleet of battleships to take down one plane. And there's only 24 levels.

Easier Levels, I Hope?

Nope.  Japan is determined this time. While there doesn't appear to be as many planes, they are bigger, shoot more bullets, and are more willing to go the kamikaze route. Also, there is either a bomber or a battleship at the end of each level that takes up about half the screen.

Wah, Unfair!

And you only get one plane per level.

I quit.

But you can get hit more than once!  And there's power-ups galore. Think Gradius and Life Force, only they're not unlimited. The best part is that some are in the shapes of cats, cows, and elephants.

Well...Maybe. How's The Sound?

Much better! Due to a upgrade to the plane's radio system, you now hear explosions instead of beeps.

So Who Would You Recommend This To?

Anyone who likes shooters, liked 1942, or likes killing Ja...scoring points.
