What Kind Of Game Is This?
This is a game that resembles football. There are colorful sprites with helmets. There is a football. There is even a green field, hashmarks, and a field-goal post.
How Does It Not Resemble Football?
We don't have that much room.
Okay, So What Really Sucks About This Game?
1. The wide receivers run the 40 in a blazing 19.6 seconds.
2. All passes are completed or intercepted. Mostly intercepted.
3. The kickers make Mike Cofer look like Mike Vanderjagt.
4. Did I mention the game is sloooow?
5. After safeties, the scoring team kicks off.
At Least The Game Has Safeties. What's Really Awesome?
Running back options! They can throw on every play if you want and be intercepted.
So Is This Game Hard?
To stay awake while playing? Yes. To defeat the computer? Not really. I had a little trouble against the high school team, the first of five difficulty levels. After barely defeating them, I decided to skip ahead to the Super Bowl caliber team. The only difference I noticed was that the opposing team's kicker could now kick the ball about twenty-five yards further. I won 28-0 and gained about 240 rushing yards on sweeps.
Is 2-Player Mode Any Better?
If you're with your significant other. Than you can fall asleep together. If you could play on the same team the game might be mildly fun, but alas...
Sounds Like A Dance Recital Would Be More Fun, No?
Yes! But you don't have to leave the house. The players in 10-Yard Fight sound like they're wearing tap shoes while running. It's like having 18 Bojangles in your living room! Also, when your team kicks off, rotate the control pad. Your kicker will do pirouettes on the 40-yard line!
So Who Would You Recommend This Game To?
Nobody who has fond memories of the coin-op. Collectors can probably pick this one up for less than a buck.
