If Branden could have played the low score the past two weeks, he'd have two ties cuz he'd be playing himself. Randy trounces Branden 62-40 while picking up high score of the week. He wondered about the last time he got high score. Well, the last time was Week 11. 2003. And he only scored 52 points, beating Chris who had 51.

Speaking of Chris losing by one point, the commissioner tried to give him yet another loss, but was unable to do so. 47-47 is the total between the first father/son matchup of the year.  The real heartbreaker?  Ahman Green had 99 yards for Bruce.

Had Joe Horn not fumbled the ball on the one yard line with a few minutes left to play, Deuce may have scored the go-ahead touchdown for Beau. But the ball bounces Dave's way this week, as he maintains his vice grip on 1st place with a 50-47 showing.

Only two players stood out this week to get POW honors.  Check them out. Hines Ward and Santana Moss had great weeks but were benched by their losing owners. And you can probably all guess who this week's loser was.  Hint: He missed Randy Moss.

Interview:

Colts GM Bill Polian

Colts GM Bill Polian is proud of putting together a high octane offense, but is still looking for that elusive Super Bowl. But even more disappointing is that not all his players are on an SFFL roster.  He agreed to give SFFL a few minutes of his time so give us his feelings on the topic.
SFFL: Only six of your players and the Colts defense are on an SFFL roster. What's wrong?
Polian: Actually, I'm pleased the defense is finally on a roster. But we still have a lot of work to do.  Ran Carthon and Brandon Stokely are still waiting to be picked up, and Rhodes is sure to be dominate when he recovers.
SFFL:  How did the Colts defense sneak onto a roster?
Polian:  That was a little under the table deal I made with Branden. He told me he wanted to be able to start all Colts on his team, but he couldn't part with the Patriots considering how excellent they have been the past few years.
SFFL:  So what was the deal?
Polian:  I think I've said too much already. But I'm also working on a similar deal with Beau, so he'll give Reggie Wayne to Branden.
SFFL: And what about Edgerrin?
Polian:  What are you smoking?  Bruce doesn't trade his players.
SFFL: Any other worries or developments we should know about?
Polian: I've told Branden that Hunter Smith would be a steal as one of the league's best punters. He's thinking about it.
SFFL: Well, thank you for your time Mr. Polian.  Good luck in your quest.
Polian: Thanks.  And tell Branden there's more where that came from. He'll know what I mean.

Trade Analysis

To analyze the first week's trades we have invited the top analysts in all of sports to tackle all the ins and outs of the action. We only had two trades, so we will probably only see just the tip of the talents we have assembled. So without further ado, let's welcome John Madden and Chris Berman!

Berman: Thanks Beau, it's great to be here with my good friend John Madden.
Madden:  Thank you.
Berman: Okay, let's get right down to it. The two-minutes trade analysis drill.  First off we have Branden trading Chris "Meet Me In My" Chambers for Willie "Inside-The" Parker "To Win The Game."
Madden: Now, see ah, this is a very interesting trade, and a good one for, ah, Branden. He gets rid of a receiver for a running back, and we all know that running backs score more points.
Berman: I know exactly what you mean.
Madden:  And if you look at what happened in Week 2, Chambers had 31 yards, while Parker had 111 yards and a touchdown. So, you see, 111 is more than 31, and that means that he had more yards than Chambers.
Berman:  Do you think Parker's peformance will be hurt when Staley and Bettis return from injuries?
Madden: Their returns could hurt Parker's performance, as they might take some carries away from him, and he could get less, ah, yards. But if Parker continues to do as well as he's doing, he might not have to worry. But then, if Bettis and Staley get a lot of carries, Parker may not get as many carries.
Berman: Well put, and now we're rumblin' stumblin' bumblin' to the last trade! Chris released Javon "I tore my ACL and now need a" Walker for Larry "Larry Quite Contrary" Johnson.
Madden: Ah, yes, another good trade. Chris picks up a young back who gets a lot of yards and touchdowns, despite being the #2 back on his own team. And, ah, since he'll inevitably score more points than Walker this season, I can't criticize this trade.
Berman:  Indeed, with this pickup, Chris could...go...all...the...way!
Madden: He could, and if he scores more points than his opponents, he might, ah, just win this whole thing. You see, it is important for these, ah, players to gets lots of yards and touchdowns, which in this league gets you points, and those are the things that win in football and fantasy football!
Berman: Brilliant analysis John. And before we go let's all say a prayer for those suffering from the terrible tragedy of Hurricane Katrina. I know exactly how they feel.

This just in, Branden tried to get Terrell Owens from Randy for Chris Chambers. Randy thought about it, but thought it would be an unfair trade because Branden also couldn't get Tomlinson in the deal, so Branden had to settle for Parker.

Dave has also announced that he won't make any trades until his team loses again. So stay tuned in here for trading advice shall Dave lose.

This Week

Branden (0-2) vs. Chris (0-1-1)
Dave (2-0) vs. Bruce (1-0-1)
Randy (1-1) vs. Beau (1-1)

After this week, it looks like we'll have only one team left without a win, and only won undefeated team. Unless, of course, we have some ties, which is not at all unlikely with how bunched the scores have been.
